week2

Week 2 of my photo a week and I am having so much fun being able to capture so many things!

I am updating things around here on my site, with the new year comes new changes! AND I actually have time this month to update photos and pages. But, wow with updating comes quite a bit of time consuming work! But, one thing i do enjoy is designing, so I do enjoy that part….the house falling apart around me, not so much!

I have some fun things coming up soon…..some great recipes (one i am hoping to test out soon!), another round of etsy love, and hopefully a few fun contests.

This was just a gorgeous sunny day, so we decided to take a quick walk around the bridge…it is feeling more like spring these days than winter!

Had so much fun doing these pictures, Kathy (the mom) is one of my mom’s best friends from high school. I even babysat some of her younger ones, ya…feeling a bit OLD saying that! Her daughter was in town so we met up to get a few shots of all of them together. It was FREEZING out, but we all managed to stay moving and get it done quick! I love the shots that we got of Joe and Kathy, it truly shows their connection, love and fun that they have together…i just adore capturing that!

[week one]

Well, I am a bit behind in posting this…but, the key thing is that I had it done! I will be posting from time to time this just personal project that I decided to take on. I want to take an image a week for the year, things that are real that capture things I want to remember about our weeks as a family. And truly, I am not only having so much fun doing them I am getting much more than one image a week! I love the idea of remembering all the little things throughout the year.

SO, here is the first of more to come. Our kids are all in school this year, so if my husband and I both have down time we get to actually hang out….in quiet! So, we splurged a bit and went to lunch. At one of our fav places in town, damburger! My great grandpa was friends with the owners for many years, and was well known there…and now, my grandpa is also a regular. SO, it is easy to say it is not only a family favorite, but a tradition :) If you have not been to damburger, it is a must….good good food, and old fashioned service! love that.

How adorable is this little family?! Had so much fun getting to know them and sweet little Jaxon. He is the serious thinker type, but we managed to get some sweet smiles out of him. He is at one of my favorite ages, curiosity! I just love it!

NEW vOl.25 overlays!

Well, Jessica at Vol.25 has done it yet again! She has put out yet another amazing overlay set AND an amazing 365 book template. Being part of her design team I was able to put together a few pages to let you all see the amazingness of her work and give you some ideas on how you could use them. Mostly, these refer to photographers or scrapbookers out there that have and know how to use photoshop…and if you DO the possibilities with these sets are endless!

On a side note….I was all pumped to do the 365 challenge this year (which is a photo a day for the year) thanks to the wonderful Jess and her inspirational book that would allow me to capture so many little things throughout my week, that in the end would remind me of all the things we often forget at the end of the year. But, after really considering it I realized that the 52 week challenge was a much better thing for me….I think it will allow for more creativity on my part and not so much pressure. ha! SO, I will be posting pictures on here from time to time, maybe even every week we shall see, and I will give a bit of story with it so you can see small memories we will make this year. :)

So, here are a few pages i put together… NOTE: that the frames I used on my pages are from the 365 book…sorta a mixture of the two. The sweetie pie frames are quite fun, they would be great on scrapbooking pages for sure!

{family time}

This is my aunt and her family, and I am so glad that after her wanting them for such a long time we were finally able to capture them all! I had been wanting to do photos on the deer wall for some time now, and thought it was only fitting that my uncle is an avid hunter :) we had fun! I love you all!
