[sawyer's birthday bash]

I was elated to be asked to capture Sawyer’s first birthday party, and then after hearing all the details and things going into the party was even MORE thrilled! First off, I am in love with this family. I got to capture Sawyer when he was six months, and completely fell in love with his sweet personality and cuteness. I just love them.

So the theme as you will see is vintage circus, she had me right there. Add into that a popcorn machine, oh ya…I’m in! Jenn did an amazing job putting this together, I know how much work and time goes into planning events and she did it so beautifully. I think she needs to do this for a living. She had vintage mary jane and mallo cup candies, and her mom painted the cutout standup photo frames for people to get a picture done and printed. awesome. I am a huge lover of details and the little things and I could have literally taken detail shots for hours. Pretty much the best party ever.

When we go bike riding as a family, which just happens to be one of our fave things this time of year (before the killer heat comes) we take Opal, in an unusual sort of way. She rides in style! When we first got her we really wanted her to go along so we cuddled her up in my basket and she slept. So, now that she is bigger she now loves to go on rides, even though it is a bit more snuggly.  In comes my post today….she needed a bit of comfort and cuteness on her rides. BUT, this post is not really my diy alone…in comes my amazing mom who just happens to be an amazing seamstress! I had an idea and knew I would need my mom, she can pull sewing off like nobody’s business. I am NOT good at sewing details, i can do simple things but knew i would be a bit irritated with myself at this project if it did not turn out, and i mean not fitting at all. ha!

So, thanks to my mom Opal is comfy and enjoying the sun with us. I will be posting another diy and baking things and promise to have step by step pictures for all those interested! :)

Today is yet another edition of my local loves. I love being able to share with others wonderful local things that I believe in, there are really so many amazing little shops and products in our amazing city.

So, today I am featuring Country Organics. The owners Bob and Mandy are friends of ours, Bob and I go way back to our days of working together at Raley’s…..or should I say YEARS of working together there. He was the “produce guy”, and still is just in his own amazing store. Country Organics DELIVERS local organic produce to your DOORSTEP each week. Talk about amazing! They also now have a store front so rather than having a delivery you can go in pick and choose each item AND pick up other organic items from their shelves. I do not know how many times i am out of ONE item, and they seem to have everything right there…it is convenience at it’s best. They carry local Hat Creek beef at an incredible price, it is something that always makes it into my basket. I really cannot say enough great things about this small but rather AMazing business! OH, and just in case you are wondering. I happen to love this place i call Redding, so i bring you all these local loves ALL on my own. I am a firm believer in sharing the great things i find to others so you too can enjoy amazing things…so NO i am not getting paid in any form to do these. :)

[opal's birthday]

Yes, I know exactly what you wanted to see pictures of my dog ON her birthday. Well, the fact is that in our house birthday’s are a big deal. We love to take time to really celebrate that person, and let them know how thankful we are to have them in our lives. So, it only came natural that my kids wanted to give Opal her own special day. She got new toys, treats and of course a photo shoot. We even made her own party hat. Go ahead and say it, I am a weirdo. ha.

So today is a few of Opal’s pictures ALONG with yet another amazing introduction to a new product from Volume 25! Jessica just keeps outdoing herself each and every time! Had such an incredible time with T&W on this mini maternity session. They have waited so long for this precious gift, and I could not be more ecstatic to be able to capture this amazing time for them. Their maternity and newborn session was gifted to them by family, isn’t that a wonderful gift idea for new parents?! So, coming soon to the blog will be their sweet little bambino!

We had limited days to be able to get this scheduled in, so we just set a date rain or shine. And rain it did.  But, we went for it and it could not have been more fun!  There was a break in the rain when we began so we did get to get some great shots in, then we headed for cover and dodged drops. They were so relaxed and did not mind the freezing wind, and rain drops….awesome. OH, and she hiked around in heels….ya, more than awesome.

[spring mini sesh]

Yes, spring is HERE! Even though it does not feel so warm out yet.  But warm weather is coming! In celebration of this season starting I am offering a one day mini session! Yeah! This will be for only small families and kiddos. So, if you have been putting off pictures and really just want a few updated shots this session is for you for sure.
