.handwritten letters.

This is a very special post for me. One that inspires me, speaks to me and touches my heart…..100 years later.  My great grandma Wilma Pearl that i had the amazing privilege to know and love, loved to save everything. And it is of great value now when I get to read a letter that my  great, great, great grandmother wrote. My grandma passed old letters and postcards down to my mom and as we went through them I was in awe of what I got to read. A piece of history, my families history….a gorgeous handwritten letter that after all these years speaks to who i am.

In the letter she is writing to my great great grandma Rose in the year 1912, in her gorgeous handwriting. Here are a couple quotes from the letter, great advice…even now!

“Now be real saving and work up as it is much better to begin with little you can afford, then to begin with what you can’t afford.

” But we’ll leave every thing with the Lord, he does all things well, which ever is for the best… ain’t any of us sure of tomorrow.” What an incredible piece of my family heritage to know that she trusted and loved God, it was very evident throughout the letter.

I knew right away I wanted to capture this with my camera…a piece of my history.

Thank you Hannah for preserving this. I am so happy to see your interest in our family history. It means so much to me to be able to pass these things down to you and know that you treasure them as I did. I love you, Grandma Judy
