{apple crumble bar}

Today is recipe love for you all….I LOVE to bake, which is also a bad thing for my waist!  This is a delicious apple recipe, it would make an excellent alternative for apple pie for thanksgiving. We got our first great harvest this year from one of our apple trees so i made lots of great desserts with them! This recipe is seriously fool proof easy….here it is, with a few pictures along the way! Recipe at bottom. Enjoy!!

Peel, core and cut apples. In with the apples add sugar, flour, and cinnamon.

This is the dry mixture that will be the base of the dish and the crumb topping.  You will mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Once mixed cut in the butter with a pastry cutter (or you can use your hands) just make sure that it is crumbly. Then gently mix in egg. AND am just now seeing that I was supposed to beat the egg BEFORE adding, so you may want to do that. HA! but I did not and it worked out anyway. :)

You will then pat 2/3 of the dry mixture into the 9×13 pan….then lay the apple mixture on top of that. Then sprinkle the rest of the dry mixture on top of the apples (I also sprinkled the top with some more cinnamon, i love cinnamon!). The picture above is when it came right out of the oven to cool. Smelled so delicious!

And here it is in all its deliciousness! After it cools a bit you drizzle the glaze over the top, and devour. I took these to my parents for family night and everyone loved them! I think they were even better the next day, they got a bit more dense.

Hope you enjoy them, we sure did!! Here is the recipe….
